Hello everyone!
Just looking at the pearland website and reading about all of the new updates coming to us in the near future.
Just wondering what everyone thinks about the Magnolia Phase 3 Project, and how that will directly change our neighborhood, because if I'm not mistaken it seems as if Magnolia will connect all of Pearland. So the intersection of Magnolia and Vail will have major construction and I'm assuming the big nature area with the creek that seperates us from West Oaks will all turn into one big busy road. I'm just wondering if this whole expansion will bring more unwanted outsiders into our quiet little happy subdivision. What are everyone's thoughts or opinions? Rolling Eyes

Thanks.
VM

Hey VM,

Thanks for the post. The Magnolia extension will connect Pearland from 288 to Pearland parkway. Unfortunately, it runs right along our community. The original thought for the project back in 2000 was that it would alleviate congestion along 518 as Pearland grew by offering another east-west corridor to 288.

I hope traffic will remain light along the area. The main benefit is to get to 288, which many people have found alternate and quicker ways to do outside of 518 by traveling north-south along Pearland Parkway, Cullen, 35, and Mykawa to access the beltway, then travel to 288. Southfork/Northfork, which is the connecting street for Magnolia has seen relatively light traffic. It is used primarily by the homeowners to avoid exiting 518 to enter Silverlake and Silvercreek.

For us, the main danger is unwanted traffic that could lead to crime, and pollution.
